EZkeys 2.0.1 Release Notes: 2023-06-05
Please note that version 2.0.1 is required to support EZkeys Audio Extensions (EKX) released from now on (Q2 2023).
Changes (General) :-
●After importing an EZkeys 1 project, it is now suggested to use the name of the imported project when saving (instead of "Untitled").
●MIDI Learn GUI has been redesigned.
●Pressing Esc during MIDI Learn now cancels it.
Grooves tab:
●A progress dialog is now displayed when selecting "Sync File Changes" for a custom MIDI or linked folder, or when adding a new linked folder via the Options menu. Settings: ●
"Libraries/Paths" tab where you can change the path to EZkeys libraries and path to user presets
●MIDI In Transform can now be used to gate incoming MIDI.
Bug Fixes (General) :
Added workarounds for ACID Pro to make VST 3 play audio and be able to receive MIDI from the host.
When importing an EZkeys 1 project, the song track name became empty instead of being set to the default name.
When saving a new user preset and saving the project, and then loading the project, that preset was not selected.
"Save a copy" did not work correctly - any subsequent regular "Save" would write to the copy instead of the original file (or instead of displaying the save dialog if the project had not yet been saved normally).
Song track:
Notes that sound across multiple chords are now better processed when changing chords.
Importing EZkeys 1 projects did not always result in the correct chords appearing on the song track.
Adding a chord with the Pencil tool now gives the correct chord that the block plays, even when drawing over a large MIDI area.
"Add Chord to Chord Track" added incorrect chords in some cases.
Improved handling of bass notes when changing chords from major to minor or vice versa.
Some chords that were displayed as maj7add13 are now displayed as maj13.
Improved chord analysis.
Correcting a chord and hitting the same chord again didn't update the inversion marker.
When changing chords, notes could break off in strange places.
Moving/resizing a chord at the start of a MIDI block no longer causes a crash.
Bass notes could be transposed using inversion.
Inversion could change the notes of the arpeggio beyond the right-most note of the left hand.
When showing triplets and zooming in high, the timeline turned black.
Dragging from a song track could cause the track to scroll endlessly in some cases.
A groove containing key signature changes did not fully transpose to the current key signature when dragged from the Grooves tab to the song track.
When changing chords in the key signature editor with "no transpose" the chords could have been changed anyway.
Exporting a track to audio was causing a crash in some hosts.
Changing libraries/scales and adding/duplicating song tracks caused the collapsed song track to disappear.
The "Select Containing Folder in Grooves" feature did not work properly in a project saved on a different computer than the one where the project was loaded.
Editing Chords :
Typing a chord in the center of the chord wheel resulted in a different chord in some cases.
Some graphical details in the Chord Edit view were not displaying correctly when the GUI scale was set to anything other than 100%.
The chord preview played the wrong notes in some cases and the previous chord in some cases.
Chord reset played the preview even if the chord preview feature was turned off.
Pressing the Done button after correcting a chord created an extra undo step.
The "Adjust Notes to Scale" button didn't always appear at the right time after changing key labels from "no transpose".
Clicking the "Adjust Notes to Scale" button or in Keyboard view could cause keyboard shortcuts to stop working in Edit Chord view.
Information window "Correction of notes on the scale".
Suggest Chords :
Duplicating a song track did not update the SugestChordz view.
Crash fixed,
When changing chords, the preview now only plays if exactly one chord has been changed - locked chords are ignored and not displayed.
Changing chords did not always graphically update the chords on the song track.
Grooves tab :
Incorrect percentages were displayed in the "Match" column for Tap2Find search results.
You can no longer move columns to the left of the Play, Favorite, and Web Shop MIDI columns in the results view.
Presence of MIDI files with only CC and without MIDI notes in folders User MIDI or linked folders could cause crashes when using Tap2Find or Replace MIDI.
Dragging and dropping a User MIDI file into Finder/Explorer in some cases gave the file a different name than what was displayed in the browser.
Grid Editor :
When editing notes within the same chord, the adjacent chord could be incorrectly analyzed.
The "Length" function now always changes notes evenly.
The Humanize function now changes notes more evenly and results in fewer unintended actions.
Deleting a MIDI block would reset locked chord notes in the grid editor.
When grabbing the handles of a vertical scroll bar in a grid and dragging, the grid view could jump up and down in an odd way.
Copied notes could be incorrectly humanized if their original was not humanized. The notes around the copied notes are also humanized.
The playback head in the pedal (sustain, etc.) and value (velocity, etc.) editors was sometimes displayed in the wrong place.
Pedal editors can now use nudge click to select multiple blocks.
Dragging a note while using Scale Snap could cause the note to jump up and down between two points, creating strange noise when previewing the note multiple times.
Bandmate :
Chords can no longer end with loose times when moving or resizing the MIDI/Audio input.
Stopping playback in Bandmate and starting playback elsewhere no longer causes the output track to not play and the playback head to not move when playback starts again in Bandmate.
The Inversions +/- buttons in Bandmate were sometimes enabled when they shouldn't have been enabled.
The chords on the Bandmate output track were sometimes incorrectly inverted.
The Edit Chord view now closes when chords are deleted with the Chord tool.
Having MIDI files with only CCs and no MIDI notes in User MIDI folders or linked folders could cause failures in matching grooves.
Resizing chords in Bandmate to MIDI containing sustain CC could cause a crash.
Resetting a chord could change other chords.
Manipulating tracks at the same time as applying Note Amount no longer causes crashes.
Improved swing/straight analysis for audio with strings.
The Note Amount feature in Bandmate now always affects all MIDI output tracks.
Bandmate's Octave knob no longer transposes notes out of range.
The "Octave" knob in Bandmate is now disabled if the octave cannot be changed.
Improved accuracy of results for audio files.
Note Amount knob increment/decrement step size is now preserved when updating Amount min/max values.
Fixed a bug that could occur when loops and chords were dragged very quickly.
Loop or chord dragging was interrupted when the search for suitable grooves ended.
"Show Similar Grooves" in Bandmate now clears all pre-existing browser filters in the "Grooves" tab.
The metronome shortcut didn't work when the Bandmate was in focus.
When using a Drums source, the state of the Auto-Apply Chords button was not updated when splitting chords with the Chord Tool.
Songwriting Scales :
The Songwriting Scales window sometimes opened with a major scale when it should have opened with a minor scale.
